Our staff reflects the culturally and ethnically diverse community we serve. They are proof of our dedication to creating a multifaceted, inclusive environment that fuels innovation and the gold standard of patient care we strive for.

What will you be doing in this role:

The Manager, Network Engineering leads the people, platforms, and operating practices that deliver secure, resilient, and scalable network services across the health system. This role sets technical direction and service priorities for network security and operations, including the enterprise perimeter, remote access, campus and site LAN/WAN, data center, and wired and wireless environments. The manager partners with clinical, business, and technology stakeholders to align network capabilities with organizational goals and to maintain reliable services for a 24x7 healthcare environment.

  • Lead, coach, and develop network engineering and operations staff; set clear priorities, assign work, support performance and career development, and build accountability for quality and service outcomes.
  • Own the network engineering roadmap, architecture standards, and lifecycle plans. Evaluate new technologies and application requirements, and guide secure, supportable designs that meet availability, performance, scalability, and resiliency needs.
  • Oversee design, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise LAN/WAN, routing and switching, wireless, data center connectivity, remote access, network perimeter, firewalls, VPN, network access control, authentication, and monitoring platforms.
  • Guide network security and operational reviews; maintain standards, procedures, diagrams, and technical documentation; coordinate remediation of vulnerabilities and other identified risks with security partners.
  • Provide operational oversight for incidents, problem management, change control, capacity planning, performance monitoring, service-level commitments, and continuous improvement. Lead escalations and root-cause reviews for significant network issues.
  • Plan and deliver network infrastructure projects in partnership with project managers, information security, clinical technology, facilities, application teams, vendors, and other stakeholders. Communicate risks, dependencies, and service impacts in clear business terms.
  • Coordinate disaster recovery and service continuity planning and exercises for network services. Support an enterprise environment that requires dependable 24x7 operations, including participation in the applicable escalation or on-call rotation.
  • Manage team workload and technical resources; contribute to operating plans, vendor coordination, and service metrics, and recommend investments that improve reliability, security, and supportability.
  • Promote compliance with applicable organizational policies and healthcare privacy and security requirements, including protection of sensitive information and coordination with compliance and security teams.
