Job Description
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (CSMC) is a world-renowned medical center and American College of Surgeons Verified Level I Trauma Hospital. Cedars-Sinai has been named to the Honor Roll for the 10th consecutive year in U.S. News & World Report’s"Best Hospitals 2025-26" rankings. Orthopaedics is ranked #1 in California and #5 in the nation. We are recruiting for an Orthopaedics faculty member specializing in trauma surgery. An ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in resident education and research.
We are seeking candidates to join our busy faculty team in the Department of Orthopaedics. CSMC is a 915-bed academic center with state-of-the-art surgical facilities and an accredited orthopaedic residency program and an accredited orthopaedic trauma fellowship.
The position will include clinical, teaching and research expectations. The strength of the program arises from a multi-disciplinary team of experts that includes more than 117 orthopaedic surgeons in the department, many of whom hold national positions of leadership. We provide the full spectrum of care with specialized expertise in joint replacement, oncology, osteoporosis, pediatric, scoliosis, adult spine, trauma, limb reconstruction, and joint preservation.
Cedars-Sinai physicians and scientists are leaders in basic and clinical research, bringing advancements in medicine directly from the laboratory to the bedside. Opportunities for surgeons to collaborate with productive full-time researchers present a unique opportunity for the academically motivated surgeon. This mission has been furthered by the establishment of Cedars-Sinai Health System (CSHS), an expansive regional healthcare system. The system includes three of the finest hospitals in Southern California beyond the flagship Cedars-Sinai Medical Center totaling more than 2,300 beds with revenues exceeding $7 billion annually. CSHS also has more than 50 outpatient locations spanning the entire Los Angeles region and population of over 18 million.
Our compensation philosophy:
We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown above takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. We also offer a comprehensive faculty benefits package.
Pay Range: $612,200 – $895,172 total cash compensation
Qualifications
MD or MD/PhD
Residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery and fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma
Eligibility and/or Certification by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery or its equivalent
Eligibility for an unrestricted California Medical License
Eligibility for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Medical Staff Membership
Eligibility for appointment to the appropriate academic rank in the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Professorial Series
