Inpatient Clinical Pharmacy
At Cedars Sinai Medical Center, inpatient clinical pharmacists play a critical role in optimizing patient outcomes through interdisciplinary patient-centered care. Inpatient Clinical Pharmacists provide care for diverse patient populations to ensure safe, effective and evidence-based medication management throughout patients’ hospital stay. Our pharmacists are integral part of multidisciplinary teams across all inpatient areas:

Outpatient Clinical Pharmacy
The Outpatient Pharmacy at Cedars‑Sinai serves as a pivotal component of patient care, catering to discharge patients, outpatient surgical cases, specialty medications and various clinics. Beyond dispensing medications, our dedicated team provides crucial medication access support, collaborates closely with healthcare providers and educates patients on optimal medication usage. As an Outpatient Clinical Pharmacist, you will be part of a highly skilled team at an institution nationally recognized for clinical excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and leadership in complex specialty care.
Our pharmacists Engage in discharge pharmacy workflow, including data entry, insurance processing, filling prescriptions, patient outreach, and inventory management.
The Outpatient Pharmacy also includes our URAC accredited Specialty Pharmacy, which provides counseling and convenient delivery of high-cost prescription medications used to treat complex, chronic, or rare conditions.
Cancer Clinical Pharmacy
The Cancer Pharmacy Team at Cedars‑Sinai serves patients in the treatments of cancer, hematological conditions, and complications related to chemotherapy. Comprehensive cancer care is provided through two outpatient cancer programs and inpatient adult and pediatric programs. Pharmacists’ services are integrated within the bone marrow transplant team and investigational drug research programs.

- Chemotherapy preparation and dispensing
- Inpatient Hematology/Oncology and BMT (I and II)
- Investigational Drug Services (IDS)
- Oral chemotherapy clinic

- Gastrointestinal Oncology Clinic
- Genitourinary and Gynecologic Oncology Clinic
- Neurology Oncology and Multiple Myeloma Clinic

We are looking for motivated compassionate individuals who are team players, possess excellent communication skills and are committed to patient care. Applicants should have completed residency training with an emphasis in oncology (PGY2 in oncology is preferred) and/or possess equivalent experience in oncology and infusion therapy practice, possess a Pharm.D. Degree and are licensed in California and BLS card.
Drug Use Policy
The Drug Use Policy (DUP) pharmacist is an invaluable part of the hospital care team, is responsible for:
- Reducing drug expenses
- Site of care strategies to reduce LOS and avoid unnecessary high-cost admissions
- Ensuring appropriate use of emerging high-cost therapies.
The DUP Pharmacist also serves as a gatekeeper for high cost/risk medications and is a resource for the medical, nursing and pharmacy staff on therapeutic issues and target drug programs. The DUP Team supports the P&T Committee, Antimicrobial Stewardship Cite, formulary management, and institutional initiatives.
The Clinical Prior Authorization Team, a new Cedars-Sinai Initiative Team currently is part of the DUP hierarchy . The Clinical Prior Authorization Pharmacy Team’s goal is to improve patient care, satisfaction while establishing best practices for reducing denials of high-cost infusions & injections, and improve denial recovery
Responsibilities of the Medication Assistance Team include:
- Supporting prior authorization by reviewing CS-link and comparing with payer-requirements for specific medications
- Supporting clinics with prior authorization questions
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, admissions and contracting
- Coordination and communication with patients related high cost drug questions as they arise
- Working with patients and Patients Assistance Programs to support high-cost medications therapies
